Ani. Ostaci nekadašnje jermenske prestonice, grada «1001 crkve», važnog mjesta na Putu svile, koji je brojao i do 100 hiljada stanovnika. Napušten, zaboravljen, prepušten zubu vremena. U sred nedođije. Izgubljen u anatolskoj stepi. Na samoj tursko–jermenskoj granici. Zatvorenoj. Opasanoj ogradom. Nigdje nikoga. Sunce, vjetar i apsolutna tišina. Nema ni turista. Samo poneka zalutala ovca i u daljini, na jermenskoj strani – vojna osmatračnica.
