Posted June 3, 2010 Hello, like year ago, i'm planning to spent my holidays in Serbia, Macedonia and Greece. For Greece I have idea about expences from last year, but back then I just drive via Serbia and Macedonia. May someone give me some idea about price levels? Motels, campings, eating out, pack of Marlboro cigarettes ? And generally, which have better prices, Serbia or Macedonia? If to take Hungarian prices as 100%, how much will approx. be Serbia and Macedonia? Gasoline - what it is for now? Is there difference in gas prices in Serbia and Macedonia? I like restaurant Mashala Tito last year - somewhere south of Belgrade Reply

Posted June 3, 2010 Hi there. I don't know about motels, hotels and hostels but they are about 10-20eur per night. That depends of location of the eg. hostel, or motel. Serbia is heaven for eating out and smoking cigarettes. You can eat for/from 0.5eur in bakery - 2.5 eur for pljeskavica [something like kebab but much better, beleive me (put a lot of onion in it and enjoy)]. The prices are for Belgrade city. Other parts of Serbia should be cheaper. Marlboro red, gold, silk etc. are 1.3-1.5 eur per pack. This is nice, since I'm a smoker too Gasoline is bad quality, but could do. The price is 1.2eur for benzin [gasoline], 1.1 for eurodiesel, and 0.6 eur for plin [gas, lpg, butan etc..] Serbian prices vs. Macedonian are almost equal. The prices in markets are the same like in Hungary or Greece or even higher, but you'll survive. Reply
Posted June 3, 2010 One more important question - can I pay in Euro? Or is it wiser to have dinars? first is preferable coz I have no idea how much I will spend in Serbia, but normally eating-sleeping places give very poor rates for foreign currency. Posted June 3, 2010 It is better to have dinars. You have a lot of exchange offices, so don't worry. You can exchange some small amount of money, just for beginning, and later, if you need more dinars, you can do that again and again. Reply
Posted June 4, 2010 don't change money in banks, it's better to find exchange offices on the streets. Come to Novi Sad! I can show you the city and maybe give you place for sleep if you want. I think there is hostel in center of city for about 6 euros per day. Just send me message if you need something. Reply
Posted June 5, 2010 Thankk you from all my hearth! Just my overnights will be 1) somewhere between Warschaw and Katowice, 2) Hungary, so third will be most probably in South Serbia. But I hope to see Novi Sad one day for sure Reply
