Renting out my house in Croatia, what do I need to know?

3 posts in this topic

Hi, I have bought a property in Croatia. It's a small property not bigger than 50 square meters. Our question is. If I want to rent it out to people on airbnb or other local tourists, what do I need to do to follow the legislations in Croatia.

I have heard that you need to register your property for the purpose of renting to tourists with a fee of 1400 kuna.

What more do I need to do? Do I need to pay 1 euro per day fee/per tourist to the tourist office even if the citizen is a member of European Union?

Also what is the tax percentage that I need to pay to the tax office in Croatia?

Maybe this isn't the right forum for these questions but if you have any clue where I can send my question I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried contacting relevant local authorities in the local council/municipality?

That would be my first port of call - although you might have to find someone to translate for you.
