we?re planning a longer trip to Serbia, two or three weeks, by train and bus, with a tent and "we" is including our little daughter. It?s not easy to get informations, especially about Southern Serbia (Stara Planina, Svrljiske planine, cemernik), where we are going to go. But your site seems to be really helpful, thanks for  that!

Could you give us some advices, where to go (we want to go to the mountains, be in nature)? Are there mountain homes or campingsites? Or would you rather advice another region in Serbia?

  There is an excellent mountain refuge in Stara Planina. The personnel is nice and some of them even speak English. I'll try to dig out their phone number and post it here, but give me some time

? The guy who speaks English is Dragan. You can contact him directly at 063/7609965. Last time I was there was two years ago, so I'm not even sure if he still works there, but it's worth a try.

? The refuge is just beneath the rocky peak called "Babin Zub" (Grandmother's Tooth).

? You can take a bus/train from somewhere to Nish, then a bus to Knjazevac, and a local bus to the village of Crni Vrh. From there, you'll reach the refuge within a two hours' walk.

? I had arranged it in advance with the refuge personnel to give me a lift from Knjazevac to the refuge, since they do this route by car pretty often for catering purposes.
