Posted June 1, 2007 Za one kojima su putovanja licni quest: “It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.” “Nobody climbs mountains for scientific reasons. Science is used to raise money for the expeditions, but you really climb for the hell of it.” “People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things.”

Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." ~Mark Twain Reply

Posted August 28, 2007 Evo malo Latinskih mudrosti: “Patria mea totus hic mundus est” – Moja domovina je ceo ovaj svet (Seneca) “Iter est, quacymque dat prior vestigium” – Put je tamo gde je neko prvi ostavio trag (Publilus Syrus) “Si rota defuerit, tu pede carpe viam” – Ako nema kola a ti idi peske (Ovidius) “Acrior est cupiditas ignota cognoscendi quam nota repetendi” – Veca je zelja za saznavanjem nepoznatog nego za ponovnim pronalazenjem poznatog (Seneca) ...i jedna malo romanticna: “Navigare necesse est, vivere non est necesse” – Ploviti se mora, ziveti ne (Plutarchus) Reply

Posted August 24, 2008 Naleteh na nekoliko zanimljivih: "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things can not be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Don’t be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends" – Robert Bach (Chris) "I have wandered all my life, and I also traveled; the difference between the two being this, that we wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment." - Hillaire Belloc "I am so convinced of the advantages of looking at mankind instead of reading about them, and of the bitter effects of staying at home with all the narrow prejudices of an Islander, that I think there should be a law amongst us to set our young men abroad for a term among the few allies our wars have left us." - Lord Byron "Travel has a way of stretching the mind. The stretch comes not from travel’s immediate rewards, the inevitable myriad new sights, smells and sounds, but with experiencing firsthand how others do differently what we believed to be the right and only way." - Ralph Crawshaw “Stripped of your ordinary surroundings, your friends, your daily routines, your refrigerator full of food, your closet full of clothes - with all this taken away, you are forced into direct experience. Such direct experience inevitably makes you aware of who it is that is having the experience. That’s not always comfortable, but it is always invigorating.” - Michael Crichton “The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore… unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible… it is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors… to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.” - Ferdinand Magellan “A man travels the world over in search of what he needs, and returns home to find it.” - George Moore “Own only what you can carry with you; know language, know countries, know people. Let your memory be your travel bag.” - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” - Henry David Thoreau “No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” - Lin Yutang “To see once is worth more than hearing a hundred times.” - africka poslovica “Walking ten thousand miles of world is better than reading ten thousand scrolls of books.” - kineska poslovica Reply
