Ipak, dvije teme dominiraju – izbjeglištvo i rat. https://www.portalnovosti.com/bostjan-videmsek-danasnji-svijet-je-slobodno-trziste-za-nasilje Reply

Trenutna situacija u Singapuru pokazuje kako singapurska vlada ozbiljno shvata i tretira lažne vesti, širenje panike, prevare koliko i sam virus. Reply
Posted February 26, 2020 You see what I am trying to say here? People have noticed. By February 17th, the Chinese people, at least those who use social media, had been fed up with many of the government’s conducts. They had noticed the authority’s sneaky little tricks in managing this national crisis; the corruption, the irresponsibilities, the inefficiencies, all laid bare like never before thanks to the internet. Donation to the Red Cross was a bottomless pit, using personal sources to find medical supply seemed like a dead end, even vocalizing for the whistleblower Li Wenliang online was prohibited. Having been house arrested for over 3 weeks, the entire online population felt angry, hopeless, and desperate. http://elephant-room.com/2020/02/24/the-story-of-jiangshanjiao-江山娇/ Reply
Posted March 1, 2020 The Tupolev Tu-144 looked very similar to its Anglo-French competitor -- which inevitably earned it the nickname "Concordski" -- but it was somewhat more exotic and mysterious. And the Soviets' track record in aerospace demanded respect: that same year, they had achieved the first probe-landing on Mars and launched the first space station. They seemed perfectly positioned to beat the West on supersonic passenger travel. https://edition.cnn.com/style/article/tupolev-tu-144-concordski/index.html Reply
Posted March 5, 2020 By this account, COVID-19 is turning out to be a remarkably intelligent evolutionary adversary. By exploiting vulnerabilities in human psychology selectively bred by its pathogen ancestors, it has already shut down many of our schools, crashed our stock market, increased social conflict and xenophobia, reshuffled our migration patterns, and is working to contain us in homogenous spaces where it can keep spreading. We should pause to remark that COVID-19 is extraordinarily successful epidemiologically, precisely because it is not extremely lethal. With its mortality rate of 90%, for example, Ebola is a rather stupid virus: It kills its host — and itself — too quickly to spread far enough to reshape other species’ life-ways to cater to its needs. The bad news for you is that, if you live in a densely populated area, you are very likely to contract the coronavirus — if not this year, next year, or the year after as it undergoes its seasonal global migration pattern with its zoonotic cousins. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/culture-mind-and-brain/202002/the-coronavirus-is-much-worse-you-think Reply

I didn’t understand this when I lived in America, but you need to wash your butt after you poop. You can’t just wipe it until the paper looks clean. If you got poop on any other surface you wouldn’t just wipe it off, you’d wash it. Your butt deserves the same dignity. https://medium.com/@indica/white-people-you-need-to-wash-your-butts-a1dd1a1b2bef Reply

Posted March 13, 2020 This is what you can conclude: Excluding these, countries that are prepared will see a fatality rate of ~0.5% (South Korea) to 0.9% (rest of China). Countries that are overwhelmed will have a fatality rate between ~3%-5% Put in another way: Countries that act fast can reduce the number of deaths by a factor of ten. And that’s just counting the fatality rate. Acting fast also drastically reduces the cases, making this even more of a no-brainer. https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-die-f4d3d9cd99ca Reply

Posted March 17, 2020 https://africasacountry.com/2017/12/how-nigeria-defeated-ebola/ In retracing events, Nguku and Sani-Gwarzo’s teams had to imagine Sawyer’s every move. Detailing the path of contact, they considered that after deplaning, Sawyer stood in a long immigration line. Eventually he handed his passport back and forth to at least two government officials. He then waited with other passengers from different flights at the baggage claim. When he met his ECOWAS contacts, Abdulqudir and Olu-Ibukun, they walked past the hundreds of passengers and visitors moving up and down the terminal. After exiting the airport, they made their way through numerous currency sellers wanting to change their money. Then they walked among the multitudes of taxi-drivers attempting to secure the lucrative deal of driving them to another part of the city. At some point, someone had to pick Sawyer up off the floor after he collapsed. Reply

Posted March 18, 2020 About fifteen years ago, after yet another global contagion — the so-called bird flu — emerged in Asia, killing about 60 percent of the people it infected and threatening a catastrophic influenza pandemic, governments worldwide began to prepare for the worst. This effort included analyzing what happened in 1918 to identify public-health strategies to mitigate the impact of an outbreak. Since I had a historian’s knowledge of 1918 events, I was asked to serve on the initial working groups that recommended what became known as non-pharmaceutical interventions, that is, things to do when you don’t have drugs. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/17/opinion/coronavirus-1918-spanish-flu.html Reply
